Alright- good news and bad news.
I have successfully confirmed via two separate test units, that we can replace the LCD/Digitizer combo as planned and it will respond to touch with the OE Medallion unit. This is great news, as the software values could have been locked out and eliminated any chance of replacement.
The bad news- right now, the sensitivity of the touch is not where it needs to be. It requires too much input pressure.
To correct this, we will be changing the digitizer structure, replacing the OCA sheet to a more conductive version, and also aligning the print plates on the top glass better; in order to hide the exposed glue on this version.
r2 should be coming in 2-3 weeks for further testing.
